Pressed Metal Chairman Mao Relief Sign

This is a very unusual and unique piece. Chairman Mao's profile has been stamped into a round piece of metal with plum blossoms under Mao in quite amazing detail.
This does not appear to have ever been painted and might have been intended as an insert for another item - however it is clear that it has never been attached to any object or held in place by any mechanical means as there are no marks on the surface to indicate such.

This disk is 10.5 cm (4.15 inches) in diameter.
