Cultural Revolution Ration Book

The Cultural Revolution in China not only affected the way people thought?it also affected what they ate?

This relic from times past belonged a Ms. Wu, who was admonished to save food every time she looked at the cover as stated by a “Top Directive? The book was officially called, “The People’s Staple Foodstuffs Ration Book? The inside pages begin in Oct. 1970 and continue monthly to June 1977. We can see the staple foods consumed by Ms. Wu and her family ?cooking oil, flour and of course rice.

Considering the fact that Ms. Wu carried this for 7 years it is in remarkably good condition. The cover has been sewn together on the binding to keep everything together. All of the internal pages are present, 53 in total.
