Pre-Cultural Revolution Color Silks - Marx and Engels

These two hand painted silk pictures of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels are rare examples of silks produced in the mid-1950's.

The image of Marx is different from the most common pose that he is usually shown in.

Both silks use traditional Chinese rather than the simplified Chinese introduced by the Communists and are written from right to left.

All are in good condition with no holes or tears. The size of each is 10cm x 15.5cm (4 inches x 6 inches). They were produced by The JinYi Silk Factory in Shanghai, China.
