Chairman Mao Bust

A Chairman Mao bust is a common sight in China. They usually are made of ceramic, or sometimes plastic or rubber. This bust, one of three unique Chairman Mao busts offered this month on The East is Red, is a very special bust made by what we believe to be a cast stone process designed to closely resemble white marble.

Chairman Mao is shown in his classic timeless pose, wearing his trademark Mao suit. A simulated natural stone bust in this size is quite rare and it has been well cared for, with just a small chip on the lower right base as can be seen in the photograph.

The bust measures 21 cm (8.25 inches) high and weighs 2 kg (4.5 lbs).
