Color Silk Brocade of Chairman Mao

This is a fantastic silk brocade using several different colored silk threads. Under the portrait of Chairman Mao (sporting his uniform) are the words, 'Long Live the Victory of Mao Tse-Tung Thought', under which is the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Although no place or date of manufacture are shown, the fact that Chairman Mao is shown in his uniform, points to the late 1960's and like most silk brocades, this was probably manufactured in Hangzhou in southern China.

It is in excellent condition with no holes or tears. The size is 11 x 15 inches (28cm x 39cm).
