Cultural Revolution Heart Shape Enamel Sign
The image of Chairman Mao Tse-Tung on this great enamel plaque is classic. The 3-D effect is enhanced dramatically due to the dome shape and makes it a small, but impressive piece.
Under the portrait of Mao are three sunflowers, each with the Chinese character for Loyalty in the center.
It is interesting to note that these have been reproduced, but the present day reproductions are flat, not domed and not nearly as impressive.
The sign measures 12.5 cm (5 inches) across and the back is stamped, Dalian Porcelain Enamel Factory.
