Cultural Revolution Military Propaganda Poster

This is a very nice example of what was being produced during the Cultural Revolution. The title of the poster is 'Hero Huang Jiguang', who was elevated into 'Hero' status during the Cultural Revolution.

Huang Jiguang was killed while part of the Chinese army's volunteer force in the Korean war. During the Cultural Revolution he was used as an example for others to follow. His uniform clearly shows the white and red badge worn by these 'volunteers'.

The poster measures 53cm (21 inches) x 77cm (30.25 inches) printed in Shanghai in October 1973. The artist credited is Zhou XX zhuang. As can be seen, there is some creasing on the poster and a couple minor tears at the very edge.
