Very Fine Early Collection of Prints of Beijing Landmarks

This collection of prints is the finest and most detailed we have seen in a very long time and date from the late-1950's-early 1960's given the subject matter and distinguishing characteristics such as Chairman Mao's portrait. Each print has exceptional detail even when magnified several times and the ridges from the printing process can clearly be felt.

There are ten images altogether of famous Beijing landmarks: Tiananmen Gate; Worker's Stadium; Beijing Railway Station; Beijing Exhibition Hall (aka Moscow Exhibition Center); Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, Agricultural Exhibition Center, Cultural Palace of Nationalities (in red and blue), Museum of Natural History and the Monument to the People's Hero's in Tiananmen Square. Many of these were built to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the new China in 1959.

The reverse shows a red seal, 'Long Live the Motherland', and printing information that indicates these were printed by Beijing People's Fine Arts Publishing House.

Each print measures 17cm (6.75 inches) x 9.5cm (3.75 inches) and all are in good condition.
