Chairman Mao Ceramic Desk Stand

This is a very good example of a ceramic desk stand produced during the Cultural Revolution.

The scene is of Chairman Mao's hometown with the inscription, 'The Sun Rises in Shao Shan', the sun naturally is Chairman Mao himself.

The back is inscribed with Lin Biao's tribute to Mao - the 4 greats - Great Leader, Great Teacher, Great Helmsman, Great Commander.

The stand is 15.5cm (6 inches) high. It was probably produced in 1969 when similar desk stands in this series where produced.
