Cultural Revolution Pair of Vases

This pair of vases has spectacular imagery from the Cultural Revolution. Each is hand painted mirrored images of a soldier and worker, shown punishing counter-revolutionaries.

Each vase has several phrases, 'All counter-revolutionaries should be destroyed', and a quotation from Chairman Mao, 'Eliminate counter-revolutionaries where ever they appear'. The bottom of the vase is, 'Long Live the Dictatorship of the Proletariat'.

Each vase is 28cm (11 inches) high and 12cm (4.75 inches) in diameter. The undersides are marked as being made in Jingdezhen.
