Cultural Revolution Teapot

This is a terrific scene that was replayed millions of times during the Cultural Revolution - sisters or classmates studying Quotations of Chairman Mao after a day in the fields toiling away.

The reverse of the teapot has an open book with the quote, 'China's daughters have high aspiring minds, they love their battle array, not silks and satins' and the rim of the teapot has 'Reconstruction Through One's Own Efforts' (ie: self-reliance) inscribed.

The teapot is 15.5cm (6 inches) high. The bottom is unmarked although this is certainly from the Cultural Revolution.
