Cultural Revolution Red Armband

This armband is unusual in that it is from the army rather than the Red Guards from the Cultural Revolution and it is cotton rather than silk.

The armband was used by the 'Beijing Garrison Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army' for the 'On Duty' guard who wore it. The armband is 36cm (14 inches) long.
